Senior scientist at Centre of Environmental Change and Sustainability, University of Edinburgh. Coordinator of various European Commission projects and international research networks. Contributing author to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 4th Assessment Reports (Working Group II). His research interest includes climate change impact and adaptation assessment; foresight analysis and environmental change futures; global change vulnerability of human-environment system; assessment techniques for global change impacts, across scales; aggregating regional heterogeneity to global figures; interactions between abiotic, biotic and cultural components determining landscapes. |
Environmental changes influence the function and service of ecosystem. In this lecture, Dr. Marc Metzger will apply the concept of vulnerability in ecosystem service research and quantitatively assess global environmental change with numerical models.
